FAQs

Do I have to go through any medical screening?

Yes. You will have to complete a questionnaire and go through a brief medical examination. 

How often can you donate plasma?

You may donate plasma up to 2 times in a week with at least  a 1-day interval between donations.

What do I need to bring with me the first time I donate?

You need to bring a government issued picture ID (driver’s license, state ID card, US Passport), proof of Social Security Number (social security card, W2), and proof of address (utility bill, cell phone bill) postmarked within the last 60-days. Online bills are acceptable! Just show us the bill when you arrive.

Can I eat before donating plasma?

Yes, and you should. Before donating, eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of fluids such as water or a low-sugar beverage.

How long does it take to donate my plasma?

Your first donation takes about 2 hours but after that, it should only take 40-60 minutes to donate. 

Is there an age limit to donate plasma?

You may donate if you are between the ages of 18-65.

Are there weight restrictions for plasma donors?

You may donate if you are at least 110lbs.

How do I get compensated for donating my plasma?

You are compensated for your time donating plasma.  A pay card system is used to deposit money onto a credit card immediately. We have a kiosk on-site where you can check your balance and transaction history. You can also download an app for when you are on the go!

What happens to my plasma after it is donated?

The plasma will be shipped to a manufacturer who will make life saving medications and vaccines.

What are some reasons I may not be able to donate my plasma?

Your safety is important to us. Donors must be in good health in order to donate plasma. We will perform screening tests and a medical evaluation to ensure you are safe to donate plasma. 

Can I donate at more than one plasma donation center?

It is highly recommended that you donate at only one donation center at a time.  Please let us know if you’d like to change your donation center!

Are the employees friendly?

We understand that donating plasma can be a unique experience and our staff are here to make your donation as comfortable and friendly as possible. Don’t be shy! We love interacting with our life savers!

Do I need an appointment to donate plasma?

You do not need an appointment. Simply walk into our center at any time during business hours and our friendly staff will assist you.
